Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a form of manual medicine that aims to diagnose and treat restrictions in mobility that affects the balance of the body. Osteopaths utilises a wide range of techniques, which is adapted to the patient’s age, morphology, pain, and emotional state.

Lymphatic Drainage

It is an advanced therapy in which the practitioner uses a range of specialised and gentle rhythmic pumping techniques to move the skin in the direction of lymph flow. This helps to relieve fluid congestion and restore the body’s natural fluid levels.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is a deeper technique that loosens the fascia by applying varying levels of pressure while stretching and holding the area. This process releases the fascia and relieves tension and pain, allowing muscles to return to their correct position and function.

Visceral Manipulation

It is a gentle technique to encourage the normal mobility, tone, and motion of the viscera (internal organs) and their connective tissue allowing smooth gliding within the body. This technique can be used to treat abdominal pain, constipation, cramps, indigestion, and much more.

SCENAR

SCENAR – stands for Self-Controlling Energy Neuro-Adaptive Regulator and is a small handheld machine used to treat painful nerve, joint, muscle conditions, and injuries. It provides lasting relief from acute and chronic pain and takes the body right through the healing process to recovery.

Kinesio Taping

Elastic therapeutic tape is an elastic cotton strip with an acrylic adhesive that is used for treating athletic injuries and a variety of physical disorders. Kinesio tape is used to treat patients with: -Muscle imbalance; -Ligament, tendon and joint injuries; -Fascial adhesions and scars; -Circulatory and lymphatic conditions; -Pathological movement patterns; -Neurological conditions etc.

Dry Needling

Myofascial trigger point dry needling uses solid filiform needles (also referred to as acupuncture needles) for therapy of muscle pain, including pain related to myofascial pain syndrome. It is used in conjunction with osteopathic techniques to reduce muscle spasm and to increase range of motion.

Myofascial Cupping

Most manual therapy techniques involve positive pressure of pushing into the body, however Myofascial Cupping is unique in that negative pressure is the means for changing tissue adhesions. Though the skin may be temporarily discoloured by red rings or hickey-like marks from the suction in the cup, this is not the intention of the therapy and therefore the success of the treatment is not gauged in this way.

Orofacial Myology

It is also known as orofacial myofunctional therapy, is the treatment of the orofacial muscles to improve muscle function and tone. It establishes correct functional activities of the lips, tongue, and mandible, so that normal growth and development may take place and progress in a stable and balanced environment. It is establishing and restoring the correct muscle function for speech development, mastication, and breathing.

Cranial Osteopathy

The focus of the work is on the craniosacral system, which includes the bones of the face, skull, spine, and sacrum as well as the fluid and membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Can be used in a range of disorders such as CNS Disorders, Depression, Insomnia, Whiplash, Sinusitis, Rheumatism, Scoliosis, Concussion, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome to name a few.

Pregnancy treatment

It is to relieve many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches, and oedema (or swelling). In addition, treatment for pregnant women reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation.
